SLB recently announced that its OneSubsea joint venture has secured a contract from BP for a subsea boosting system in the greenfield development of the Kaskida project in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico.
This contract signifies a key milestone in the enduring partnership between SLB OneSubsea and BP, marking the first engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract for a subsea boosting system between the two companies. The project’s scope includes a supplier-led, high-pressure subsea pump solution, along with an integrated power and control umbilical and associated topside equipment.
Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of SLB OneSubsea, expressed enthusiasm for the expansion of their collaboration: “We’re delighted to deepen our relationship with BP in the subsea processing domain, especially with such a critical delivery for BP’s first Paleogene field development. Our subsea boosting system will accelerate production while maximizing the project’s potential.”
The OneSubsea boosting system is vital for BP’s first Paleogene field development, providing the necessary artificial lift to enhance production through accelerated recovery of reserves. This advanced technology will achieve these goals with minimal energy consumption, unlocking the full potential of the deepwater project.
